Expenditure reports schedule – from July 2022
The Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA) publicly reports parliamentarians’ work expenses and travel expenses of their staff under section 12 of the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority Act 2017.
Expenditure information for 1 January 2017 to 30 June 2021 is available on Trove. Expenditure information from 1 July 2021 onwards is available via the Reporting page.
On 4 July 2022, the Parliamentary Expenses Management System (PEMS), developed by the Department of Finance, was implemented for parliamentarians and their staff to claim and manage expenses. PEMS contains functions relating to resources provided by both IPEA and Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MaPS).
For reporting from the first PEMS period, 1 July to 30 September 2022, refer to the following statement made by Assistant Minister Senator Tim Ayres at the November 2022 Senate Estimates, Finance and Public Administration Committee hearing: “on the advice of the relevant agencies, the Special Minister of State has authorised a postponement of parliamentarian quarterly reports until the second half of 2023.”
IPEA will provide updates on progress when available and will publish a reporting schedule as soon as publication dates are confirmed.
