Release of the 1 January to 31 March 2023 expenditure reports

Today, Thursday 4 April 2024, the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority (IPEA) released the 1 January to 31 March 2023 expenditure reports for current and former parliamentarians. These reports are now on our Reporting page and will also be available in comma separated value format on data.gov.au in approximately 2 weeks. 

85% of current and former parliamentarians have certified their report for this period (as at publication date). This figure will be updated on the certifications page as further certifications are received.

Reporting of parliamentarians’ work expenses and the travel expenses of their staff recommenced in December 2023 following completion of the reporting module in the Department of Finance’s Parliamentary Expenses Management System (PEMS).

The April to June 2023 reports are expected to be released in the week starting 6 May 2024 with subsequent reports published on a rolling schedule through to the end of August 2024. The regular cycle will then continue. Release timings will be published, when available, in the publication schedule on our reporting page.

Previous published reports are now in a new section on the website: Expenditure reports 2021-22. Earlier reports, from 1 April 2017 are available on data.gov.au (in CSV format for download) and from 1 January 2017 to 30 June 2021 on TROVE.
