Create a motor vehicle allowance claim

This video demonstration shows how to create a motor vehicle allowance claim.

This process should be viewed in conjunction with the process for creating a domestic travel allowance claim.

First log into PEMS and select the Travel Expenses tile.

This opens the travel claims window.

The button to create a new travel allowance claim is located at the bottom right of the Travel Claims screen.

Select Create Travel Allowance Claim.

This opens a Claimant and Travel Information data entry screen.

First, select who this claim is for. Then enter the Travel Start Date, the Travel End Date and the Travel Start location. For motor vehicle allowance claims, the travel start location needs to be the suburb the travel started from.

When you have finished select Create Claim.

Once the claim has been saved select OK.

A screen then displays the trip itinerary details and the claimant.

Next, select Edit trip leg detail.

Select the Mode of Transport from the drop-down list...In this case it would be Motor Vehicle Allowance.

Now complete the Travel Leg details including the kilometres travelled.

When selecting your arrival city, you will need to select the suburb of the city you arrived in using the search function.

and select Save.

An Estimate of the claim now shows the detail for the kilometres travelled and the claim is also reflected in the Claimant and Travel Information screen.

Select Review and follow the normal process for completing a domestic travel allowance claim depending on whether you are a Parliamentarian or a MOP(s) Act employee.
